We choose the weapon safe

Deterioration of criminal conditions promotes that the amount of owners fire and a cold steel steadily grows. People even more often buy it for self-defence. The quantity of the got weapon at observance of certain requirements is not limited.

If you the hunter or the collector of the weapon, for certain, you were interested in such version of safes, as weapon. After all according to our legislation these safes are obligatory purchase at acquisition of the weapon and storage of its house.

How it to keep? – Most often asked question. The answer, like, is simple - being guided by the legislation and common sense.

However in the Ukrainian legislation there are no accurate requirements to the safe or a case for storage of the weapon by civilians. Remains - common sense.

According to item 12. 1 «Instructions about an order of manufacturing, acquisition, storage, the account, transportation and use fire, pneumatic and a cold steel.»

…The quantity of the weapon which the citizen of Ukraine can have, is not limited, however the owner should provide its unconditional safety. In case of presence of three and more units of the fire, pneumatic weapon, crossbows a premise (the house, apartment etc.) or the safe (case) for its storage should be equipped by the security alarm system, independent or with a conclusion to Point of the Centralized Supervision of law-enforcement bodies.

Item 12. 12 same instructions say:

The weapon, ammunition to it, belonging to citizens, should be kept in a place of their constant residing or in places of time stay of owners (in country houses etc.) in residing, in metal boxes, the safes specially made for storage of the weapon. Thus the weapon should be in the discharged condition.

That means "specially made" in the instruction does not make a reservation.

Conditions of storage departmental (given out for office using) the weapon and a design of safes and weapon rooms are defined more accurately. Item 11 of the above-stated instruction in detail describes not only requirements to a premise with instructions of a thickness of doors of walls, lattices etc., but also to safes:

Fire-arms and ammunition should be kept in the metal cases (safes), which walls should be thickness not less than 3 mm with reliable (not less than two) internal locks. Doors of cases become stronger metal overlays or corners. On case doors from the inside there should be a weapon list under numbers. Fire-arms storage in the heavy safes having internal locks is supposed.

The following question: to fix or not fix the safe? It besides accurately is not settled by standard documents. But, from the point of view of personal safety - it is unequivocal fix. First, if the safe pistol (the small size) it can be carried away together with the weapon. Secondly, the safe for guns, as a rule, high and at an open door can be unbalanced and fall to you.

On what will pay attention the checking? First, for lock work in the safe. Secondly, on presence of separate branch for cartridges. Well and, of course, the weapon safe should not be "can" which can be pierced a finger.

Under the truth to tell, the representative of law enforcement bodies can and not come to you with check within several years, and can appear suddenly and literally in couple of days after acquisition of the weapon by you. But, we will not be afraid to repeat, let's be guided all the same first of all by safety of associates and people close to you. And then - on penalties for non-observance of requirements of storage.

Now there is a set of safes for the weapon, equipped insulation a layer, capable to protect contents also in case of a fire. It, certainly, big plus. As a rule, such safes combine in themselves functions of a weapon case and the safe for storage of documents. Besides, for collectors of the weapon there are safes with armour glass - both protection, and demonstration of a collection without direct access to it. But additional protective functions, and also design is your personal choice. In shops of firm "Luka" you not only can choose the weapon safe with characteristics necessary for you among serial models, but also order individual manufacturing.

Well, in that case we will try to sum up.

The weapon safe or case which is in your house:
- Should be made of metal, thickness not less than 2 mm;
- Should not have direct direct access to contents (to be closed by a key or a code);
- Should have separately closed compartment for an ammunition;
- Should be fixed.

If at purchase and installation of the safe you consider these 4 points subsequently misunderstanding with law enforcement bodies at you will not arise. And to you will be much quieter.
