History of locks



The first locks appeared approximately 5 thousand years BC and represented wooden devices with a latch, opened by a hand through a special aperture. Little bit later the hand was replaced with wooden keys. However the locks which have reached us since that far time have not practically remained.In the Middle Ages of our era the big step to development of key skill was made by Europe. In England the first metal locks have appeared in 870-900гг.  By the way, the key craft was not alien also to eminent persons. For example, the king of France Louis XVI was able to do quite good locks and devoted to this employment a lot of time. One of the most favourite products of the king was the secret locker which was built in a wall and used for storage the personal papers. It is the unique safe made by the royal person.XIX century is called the century of industrial manufacturing of safes. Manufacturing of heat resisting cases for storage money in England, France (Alexander Fishe's factory (Alexandre Phichet), Germany (S.Arnhajma's factory (S.Arnheim), Johann George Garni's factory (Johann Georg Garny)) appeared.  And in 1818 Jeremiah Chabb (London) has received the patent for 1st lock with multidot lock-out which the next years has become history and has entitled new type of locks. . In 1857 Linus Yale represented the first lock with a digital code, and in 1861 - the new cylinder lock which has becomes known all over the world and entitled a new type of locks - cylinder. The end of XIX century has been marked by the American invention - the alarm system on a breaking case. It consisted of a clockwork and an alarm hand bell. In XX century, in 1915 of firm Garny, Bode, Eggers and Panzer for the first time offered the telescopic locking device. Approximately since 1970  individually rented safes with electronic control systems were represented in the market. In 1980  the new generation of absolutely reliable armour safes have come in to the market and passed tests under new concept F+P. In 5 years test methods on stability to a drill with a diamond head would be presented for the first time.
